CYSO audition requirements
Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras asks string players to prepare a focused audition. Yes. Auditions are recorded video, and multiple takes are allowed. The top ensembles use required pre-selected excerpts. The fastest way to get your take to standard is to fix the passage holding it back, on the same five dimensions a panel listens for, before you ever hit submit.
Requirements, repertoire, and dates change every season and vary by instrument and ensemble. Always confirm the current, official requirements before you prepare: CYSO official audition page
