BYSO audition requirements
Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras asks string players to prepare a focused audition. Yes. Preliminary audition videos are uploaded through an online portal, and placement can be decided on the preliminary video alone when demand is high. The fastest way to get your take to standard is to fix the passage holding it back, on the same five dimensions a panel listens for, before you ever hit submit.
Requirements, repertoire, and dates change every season and vary by instrument and ensemble. Always confirm the current, official requirements before you prepare: BYSO official audition page
