CCM string audition requirements
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music requires violin, viola, cello, double bass applicants to prepare a focused audition program. Yes. Pre-screening materials are uploaded to CCM's Acceptd portal. The fastest way to get your take to standard is to fix the passage that is holding it back, on the same five dimensions a panel listens for, before you ever hit submit.
Requirements and deadlines change every admissions cycle, and exact repertoire varies by instrument and degree. Always confirm the current, official requirements before you prepare: CCM official audition page
Frequently asked
Does CCM require a prescreening video for string auditions?
Yes. Pre-screening materials are uploaded to CCM's Acceptd portal.
When is the CCM string audition deadline?
Pre-screening materials due on or before December 10 to be considered and invited to audition (current cycle). Deadlines change each admissions cycle, so confirm the current dates on the official site.
What repertoire does CCM require for strings?
For violin BM prescreen: one movement of solo Bach (sonata or partita), one movement of a standard concerto, and one Paganini or Wieniawski caprice. The live audition adds a work of the applicant's choice. Graduate levels require two Bach movements. Always confirm the exact, current list for your instrument and degree on the official requirements page.
How can I practice my CCM prescreen recording?
Practice it with the teacher first, free, no signup. Talk through your CCM prescreen excerpt, get the one specific fix that is actually costing you points, then record it again before you submit.
Something in your CCM program not holding?
