My shifts land out of tune and I do not know how to fix it.
That usually means the hand is arriving after the finger. Try this: shift to the target note but land with the thumb first, let the hand settle, then drop the finger. Do it on one shift, ten times at half tempo. You will feel the frame arrive before the note does. That is the fix.
